When I was new from where I was working. A majority of customers usually ask this certain title. However, the book is always SOLDout! So I was intrigued and wonders what is it with this book? Finally, after waiting a couple of months for a new fresh batch of books to arrive. The Perks of Being a Wallflower came in. I didn't hesitate to buy a copy. So there you have it. Here is what I thing about the book and I'll make it short.

The delivery of the story is quite unique. It is a series of letters from Charlie to an anonymous receiver [Which is probably us]. Anyway, it wasn't actually written perfectly. The authors intends to make it as if Charlie is actually writing the letter--making it more realistic. It is not a typical and most common experience of a High School student and a teenager. Surprisingly, it isn't what I expected to be.

Curiosity is a dangerous act ever and this book has it all. A life of loss, sex, drugs, friendship, love, regret, pain, sorrow, tragedy and some other things unknown to experience from a one person is impossible. You can have some but not all of it. The book for me is kind of scary and un-"inspirational". Some parts are nice from doing good at school and such but the whole highlight of the story is--I'm sorry to say-- SAD. Depression was always there and it concerns me for our young readers. The book has holes especially at the ending part. It didn't settle anything though it sends a message of "trying to move on", I think it could do better than that.

It is not a typical story for us to be inspired in life. No. Not really. I am sorry to share this with you but I am not a fan of this novel. Younger readers is not advised to read this book.

Nora&Patch. HUSH, HUSH by Becca Fitzpatrick

The most promising and most favorite fictional characters. Both have a great connection and undying affection to each other. Their effects to the readers are truly remarkable. Safe yet sexy. From the begging of the series and the most awaited final book has given us an ultimate love. It is just so sad it will finally end.

Theia&Haden. FALLING UNDER by Gwen Hayes

The two are so very different to each other yet their compatibility are brilliant. Practically drooling over for both of them. Sexy? Yes. Definitely. This is one of my best reads last 2011.

Willow&Alex. ANGEL BURN by L.A. Weatherly

Love. Love. Love. This two couple is the bomb. I am madly in-love for the both. To the story. To everything. I have been recommending this book since the book arrived from where I was working (on a bookstore, of course). Explaining how brilliantly the book were and how the two characters developed their affection to each other. I short, I loved it and for those who haven't read this one. I suggest to get a copy and feed your eyes on this one.

Lena&Alex. DELIRIUM by Lauren Oliver

Lena is simple and straight focused kind of girl. Alex is a rebel. Different people, right chemistry --- Great book. Dystopian novels are so very original and these two couple is the perfect match for a story. Even though the ending is quite unexpected... I am very much anticipated for the next one.

I got this book from where I was working. My friend suggest that I should try this... Of course, I didn't hesitate because I love a scary and thrilling horror novel. So instead of just borrowing it, I just went into the cashier and paid for it. Well... and so it began. I have read this one a couple of days ago, the memory is still fresh. Let;s start shall we?

The Plot. It was really great. The fact that this book is obviously a YA Thriller/Horror or something... The scare-vibe actually stands in its name.

The storyline is very unique in my own perspective. It is like a telling stories on a story. Confusing? Not really... You will get my point once you've read this one. The story is about a five oh-so-lucky aspiring writers, who were the finalist on a very famous horror writer named Ian Tremblin. Obviously, those five finalists with their own original story/novel [Wade, Kara, Chelsea, Chris and Demarius] are main characers. However, the narrative plot is came out from Wade Reilly. So... The person who wins gets their entry novel to be published. Just by staying on the night of the grounds of Daemon Hall. Then... of course the whole story began!

To be honest, I am very impressed on how the book is written. The stories of the five MC is very amazing and four additional story -- plus Wade Reilly's POV narration. Each story telling gives you a unique taste of horror, chills and fright. Not to mention the free creepy illustrations included on the book. Anyway, the flow of the story is quite balanced. The understanding level is good and the pacing goes in a neutral state. What I mean is there is no ups and downs. There are no parts that is dull and some parts where climactic which giving me.. I may say.. An exact chill ride. A big thumbs up for Andrew Nance! :D

The Characters. There are no similar character characteristics, right? Each characters has their own stories to tell. Aside from their story entries for the contest. Though I don't seem very attached to them, however, it's the way I feel from it. It's because this is a thriller book. I don't really know how it ends. Good or bad.. or probably very bad, right?

Flaw. There is? Well... there is. As I compliment the stories and the whole story itself. Honestly, each story told is great individually... But as the story is moved after the other or switched on Wade's POV is a difficult to swallow. Of course, you have to embrace the sole purpose of the story as well as the characters story entries.

Aside from that... The epilogue is quite off. Hate to say it but I kinda don't like it. The event's from the contest is resolved but it's not satisfying. There are too less information and clarity. I have a hard time accepting how the end.. ends!

Other Thoughts. As I mentioned about the illustrations included here. Those are actually my heart-stopper. The picture is creepy, honest-like. After a story was told, a picture ends on it. And when I flipped the page and I already know that freakish-illustration is next to the page... I can't help it. It sends the chill out of me. LOL! Which means... The book is great! It sends an impact to the reader. Awesome! :D

If you want some chill-ride.. then this is perfect for you. And may I suggest of reading this one. I'd prefer reading it at night and alone which gives it more a kick into your spine! I recommend this! A salute for Andrew Nance's Daemon Hall! :D

Lots of out customers [on the bookstore where I work] are mainly looking for the second book for The Heroes of Olympus. Which is.. I am a huge fan of Rick Riordan's books. I have this mission to collect all of his books from the Percy Jackson and the Olympian Series, The Ultimate Guide, The Demigod Files, the Graphic Novel and with his another series which is The Kane Chronicles. Even the mini adventure Percy Jackson and the Sword of Hades.

Well... obviously I'm too addicted from the author and to his YA books. What's not to like? He's a great author! So... What are the books your are waiting? Lemme know! Happy Reading! :D

20 Years Later is actually my very first post-apocalyptic novel read. Sometime ago, I actually don't have an idea the difference between post-apocalyptic and dystopian book. While absorbing the knowledge in my head, I was compelled and interested on reading this one. Let's find out shall we?

PLOT. WOW! From the prologue until the epilogue of the book is simply astonishing. The idea of creating the new world is really brilliant. The thought of the nearest destruction of the entire civilization with the gangs and our four dearest protagonist actually amazes me!

They way the book was written is exactly the way I wanted it. Simple but there are many things going on. It is not confusing and easy to adapt. The creativity and originality of creating it's world is fantastic! It makes the readers' mind to picture this world that is mentioning. Newman is a very good author. She created this world with full of surprises, she bought such a believable story of emotions and with the twist of the protagonists special abilities. In short, the writing is very fresh and new, making all of her readers attached to the book.

CHARACTERS. Characters are all so goodie! Each of our four protagonist is very different from each other. Individually, they have their own story to share, their emotions and how their lives flow to the world they are into. But when all of them shared one purpose or connect to each other, it is more ravishing. They became one in such an amazing way.

Each of our protagonists have these different characteristics which is very likable in their own way. Zane, the soft and naive one. Titus, the smart and with a strong will and Erin, the tough with a good heart. While, Eve, the fourth whom I was very interested in. She wasn't been introduced not until the middle of the book but I think that she is more of a cute and innocent one. If you're are going to ask me, I really don't know who would be my favorite character.

In addition to the story, other characters such as Miri, Jay, Luthor and a lot more contributed big time! They adds more drama, action and mystery to the story. It gives the kick and excitement that the readers need.

FLAW? There is one at the first few chapters. The pacing is a bit slow. I was looking for the best part of it. But overall the greatest things I read inside this book. I loved each and every pages.

OTHER THOUGHTS. I have mentioned that I am very picky on the book how it ends. Well... This one didn't disappoints me. It was satisfying and it definitely makes me anticipate the next installment. Awesome! :D

20 Years Later is one of the best book I've this 2011. Brilliant and compelling. A worthy read! Salute to E.J. Newman! :D

It is a YA fictional contemporary novel (or MG?), I don't know if this is my 3rd or 4th book in this genre. Anyway, I am very honored to provide a review on this one. Shall we?

The Plot. The whole storyline is completely fictional but it targeted a realistic scene. Having acne is very annoying. And highlighting it in a book is pretty new for me. The truth is, I am pleased that this book is focused on a very issue of a typical ordinary teenager. Issues that actually occurred normally on a teenager's life.

Aside from that, it blended with other teenage problems like in family, friends, relationship with the opposite sex and life career. It's a very good thing that it does not only focused on the highlight of the story. That it makes the book more expanded, fun to read and actually -- not boring.

The writing is simple and very understandable. I haven't got any issues on how I should understand it. So it was easy for me to grasp it. Then it was perfectly good book! :]

The Characters. All of the characters are very entertaining. Olivia, our protagonist, is very adorable, I really liked her so much. Her popularity is not just like the other contemporary novels I read. She is not mean or a bully. She is downright kind, friendly and remained being true to herself which is totally to be admired. Her experience of having her first zit/acne is funny but sometimes over reacting. Of course I wouldn't blame that her life being a commercial model is at stake.

Anyway, her relationship between J.W. and Theo really surprises me. It was... kinda unexpected. In a good way of course and it was pretty awesome. Other than that, the other who contributes to the story is a good touch up. I really enjoyed it! :]

Flaw? Nope, I don't have any. It's simple yet very entertaining. :]

I do recommend this for girls at young age most likely. To know how to survive puberty. It also sends us a great deal of moral lessons that it will truly help you to survive growing up. Dealing problems, learning from mistakes and giving forgiveness and a lot more. You may be able to understand on how to survive on this stage of your life. And this book truly fits the description! I admire and salute Emily Howse's Zitface! :D

Of course! ANGEL? Hello? I am a angel-related fan and this one is pretty awesome! It has a long summary, yet it is still compelling! I can feel it in my bones that this would be a great read! *shrieks* Can't waiting for this! And we only have a few days to wait! *jumps for joy*

Why waiting for A Beautiful Dark?
A very interesting read! And feels like it's a love triangle story! ohhhh... Well, I am not 100% sure if this is an angel-related book. Just read the word HEAVENS in the summary so I take it as it is. Anyway, I really like the cover! Awesome! Can't wait for this one! :D

"How did you come up with the story? Is there someone or something that inspires you on writing it?"

HS: None of my characters are ever based on people I’ve met in real life. And the scenarios in my books are never based on anything that’s ever happened to me…It’s all completely fictitious. I knew, in the beginning, that I wanted to write a story about learning the difference between just loving someone (which is how Chelsea feels for Gabe) and falling head-over-heels passionately in love with someone (which is really how Chelsea feels for Clint). That thread still does exist in PLAYING HURT, but the final published version also features the storyline about recovering from a life-changing event, too.

"What is the best and worst part of writing PLAYING HURT?"

HS: I drafted PLAYING HURT several years ago—before I drafted my debut novel, A BLUE SO DARK! I had to rewrite this book globally several times over the years, to finally get it in its final published form. That was the best and worst part of writing PLAYING HURT—in many ways, it was heartbreaking to go through years of rejection, but I also really loved having all that time to uncover my characters piece by piece, rewrite by rewrite.

"If you ever got a chance to change something about your book, what would it be?"

HS: I don’t think a book ever feels completely finished for an author. Five years down the road, if I were to open PLAYING HURT and read it again, I’m sure I’d see things I’d do differently…In fact, I HOPE I feel that way about the book. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be growing as a writer!

"Did you learn anything from writing this book? Can you tell us?"

HS: I learned the importance of listening to my characters, allowing them to tell me who they are, rather than trying to force upon them who I think they SHOULD be.

I actually didn’t come across the sports subplot until the last time I rewrote the book…And I came across it by standing back, observing the way my characters already behaved on the page, and realizing they were telling me they were athletes!

"Is there something you want to say to your readers?"

HS: Thank you. Really. My readers are the absolute coolest. They never fail to reach out to me, or to spread word of my work online…They’ve championed my work like no one else! And I can’t begin to explain just how special that is to me…

I am very pleased and honored to be a part—and to participate—of the Playing Hurt Philippine Blog Tour. Other than being a part of this event, I truly wanted to read this book as well. This is my second read in YA Contemporary genre. I am expecting great from this book and I am glad that it didn’t put me down. Let’s see what I think about this book.

The Plot. The story is written in awesomeness! The storyline drifts off into two different perspectives—Chelsea and Clint. I haven’t read anything like this, so it’s very new to me. I usually read one POV then the other characters involved are only written on 3^rd person. This one is different, two individuals telling their sets of experiences, alternating from each others story which is both linked to each other as well.

The plot is much written well. Exact and directly to the point, no adding some other stuff to drive me confuse—or crazy, some instances. It was easy to understand and I am able to grasp the expressions and statements delivered on the story.

I found very amusing when every time she recalls in her head, the name of her boyfriend, Gabe, when she’s with Clint. And also how she scolds herself. On the other hand, I am glad reading a guys perspective in this book. I mostly read them on 3^rd person. I am able to relate some of his feelings here, how he reacts and moves.

There is intimate romance here, and it surprises me. So better lay-off this book to our younger readers. But that’s the funniest parts of the book, when intimacy with fondling, deep kissing and you-know-what [being wholesome here. lol], cuts it off in something unwanted, burst me laughing. The thing is I like how they react once they were interrupted. I just actually say, “Oh hell! They’re this close. Why now?” It only means that I am voted for them to be together. And I really like the two main characters of the story.

The Characters. Chelsea Keyes and Clint Morgan. They’re just simple to be named for a character in a book. But this one stands it up. These are my two favorite in this book. Aside from being the protagonists of the whole story, I like the fact that the two has different sad past but has the same connection and probably the same horrible experience. I loved how they simply develop their devotion to each other. Which a nice way to be attached to them.

Tiny Flaw. At the almost last part of the story, there’s an unresolved situation. It felt something is still hanging up when I finished the book. You’ll know it once you’ve read the book. :]

Other Thoughts. The ending of the story is beautiful. Not a common finale you always read on some romance novel. Like that swirly things flowing in the air while they were kissing from the place where they first met or whatever. I gave sigh of relief and smile. Glad that at end gave me a sight of satisfaction. A nice way to end a story.

I am truly going to recommend this book for teens and older. No younger than that. I bet this is PG rated. LOL. But surely you’re going to love this book as much as I do! I am sure to go get myself a copy of this one! A great salute to Holly Schindler and her sophomore book, Playing Hurt! :D
