Summary

When seventeen-year-old Ellie starts seeing reapers - monstrous creatures who devour humans and send their souls to Hell - she finds herself on the front lines of a supernatural war between archangels and the Fallen and faced with the possible destruction of her soul.

A mysterious boy named Will reveals she is the reincarnation of an ancient warrior, the only one capable of wielding swords of angelfire to fight the reapers, and he is an immortal sworn to protect her in battle. Now that Ellie's powers have been awakened, a powerful reaper called Bastian has come forward to challenge her. He has employed a fierce assassin to eliminate her - an assassin who has already killed her once.

While balancing her dwindling social life and reaper-hunting duties, she and Will discover Bastian is searching for a dormant creature believed to be a true soul reaper. Bastian plans to use this weapon to ignite the End of Days and to destroy Ellie's soul, ending her rebirth cycle forever. Now, she must face an army of Bastian's most frightening reapers, prevent the soul reaper from consuming her soul, and uncover the secrets of her past lives - including truths that may be too frightening to remember.

*******

A new book emerges all about angels, Angelfire tells the story of a seemingly average ordinary girl named Ellie, who happens to find herself very, very different. Something she had never expected. She has to fight to know the truth about her.

Anyway, what do I think about this book? INFINITELY BREATH-TAKING! This book is so amazingly refreshing, I can't wait to read the next one.

Ellie's teenage life was very common in most of the YA novels but hers is entirely different. Both of her parents is alive (unlike others that has a very bad childhood memories), average family lifestyle (not so rich, not so poor) , great neighborhood, great awesome circle of friends but not especially popular, having difficulties at school... which sends me off to conclude to be refreshing. Popular students were not so mean, they even mingles with the unpopular kids and not constantly terrorizing them... which is great.

The storyline? Crap! My eyes never get bored of reading each chapters except from too much staring at my laptop causing my eyes to tear up. Some page contains humor, others are thrilling scenes, stunning discoveries, drama, love  and amazing action. It will held you eyes locked on it, keeping them to know what will happen next. The action part was my favorite,, so as  Ellie's nightmare. I pictured the scene when Ellie described was what happening to her dreams and so as the attacks. I love the slashing, stabbing, jumping high, smashing to walls, flying, gnawing, bone-cracking, blood-spilling and flesh-ripping action that left me smiling every time the action part was set in. Violent? Yes. In a good way? Yeah. Defeating the evil is a good thing, right? The twist and turns of events and unexpected revelations are amazing! It was downright brilliant, I, myself was surprised. :]

Characters? Wickedly-well-described! The major characters to the minor are very interesting. Ellie for instance, she is funny and cool and she is even troubled in her normal life -- despite who she really was. Will, well, so much Patch in him, but not Patch-like, he is more different. He's wielding an enormous sword, a tattoo (no scars), damn beautiful green eyes and he's like almost know everything. He had this humor as well, which is not so hard to like him. Minor characters, was great as well, they contribute differently from Ellie's life. The normal-paranormal life, and I loved Ms. Courtney for doing it.

There were lots of characters coming out in some of the chapters and better let them off dead -- whatever that means. One of my very intriguing character in this book would be, Cadan. He speak and appear a few to this book but I felt he'll have a big part on the next book, I hope but I am sure of it. There was something on him took my very interest, the mysterious vibe inside him even though he was a -- *spoiler* (Not gonna share it to you guys! better read it yourself).

The love portion of this book was very nice. Ellie and Will's team up and sparring moments are great and funny. I do agree for them to be perfectly matched. But there is something holding them away -- *oops! spoiler again!* (sorry guys!). Let's cut to the point for the two of them, both are genuinely great together. Period.

What else? To be honest, this book really contains a lot of spoilers. I am trying to subdue too much details from you guys. So you can feel the thrill of the book itself.

Funny thing. I was kind of sad when I finished the book. I do love the book so much, I don't want to finish reading it but books are supposed to be like that.

Highly recommended book, this will be. Not a waste of time, you can share a lot of stories about this book to the others who have read it as well. It will never get boring. I'll buy this book for myself for my birthday, when it is published this coming February 2011. Salute to Ms. Courtney!
:]
