Summary
Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her "power" to sense dead bodies—or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes the dead leave behind in the world . . . and the imprints that attach to their killers.

Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find dead birds her cat left for her. But now that a serial killer is terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he's claimed haunt her daily, Violet realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet find the murderer—and Violet is unnerved by her hope that Jay's intentions are much more than friendly. But even as she's falling intensely in love, Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer . . . and becoming his prey herself.

I have heard so much about this book and I was left behind not knowing how great really this book is. I don't want to dilly-dally anymore and let's begin shall we?

The Plot. WOW! Just absolutely WOW! The whole storyline seems to have made me stunned to express such wonderful book. This YA mystery-thriller really gives me the appetite of wanting to read the next sequel. *laughs*

For me the plot was original and creative. It is not like a typical 6th-sense-thingy we usually watch on television, this one is very unique and interesting on its own way. Believe me how this book is well-written by Derting.

I like that this one isn't one of the books written on a characters POV. I am not against it though. The highlight is of course more on Violet's issue on Jay and her secret ability. And the great part that it has scenes which focuses on the killer himself, I don't think this would be a spoiler cuz it holds up the thrill on the book. And I never guess who would it be until I finished the entire book. How cool is that?

Aside from the intensity part of the book. Nothing is best for humor and love. it eventually drew me closer on reading it. There are ignorance parts on it and send me laughing, some were just so unexpected and I still went on laughing. It was a great feeling. And for the love part, Violet and Jay's story is still glued in my thoughts now. And I love to see more from them. *giggles*

The Characters. OH. MY. GOD. I was so enthralled on Violet's ability though it was scary and to her feelings to Jay. I can't help it how it progress from start to finish. I would say this has given me a great impact and wanted even more! I am now a big fan of Vi and Jay's team up! <3

Minor characters, such as, Vi's parents, her uncle... I would say all the people who has a part was brilliant. Especially, when there is Vi's circle friends, Chelsea, Claire and Jules. Oh you won't feel jaded, it will make you laugh all the way. I was contagious!

I don't want to spoil anything because this book really hits me to the bones. I just wanted you guys to know how I felt with with this one! And it was so awesomely amazing! Each page  was never, ever boring to me! My eyes was glued and even forgot how long I've been reading this book! And I'd love to read this over and over again! :]

I wanted to feel more of the thrilling ride, the creepy sensation, the indisputably great humors and the love-giggling ambiance between Vi and Jay. And this book is really promising and I will definitely, absolutely recommend this book for everyone! You're not going to regret having this one to your shelves. And surely you won't be disappointed to this one! You're gonna love this from start to finish! Can't wait to get my hands on the next sequel, Desires of the Dead! :]

A well deserve salute for Kimberly Derting and The Body Finder! *applause*
